2018 – The Best Is Yet To Come

Firstly, let me apologize for the absence.

The festive season is something that we firmly agree should be about family. No blogging, unfortunately – just our family and enjoying our time together at such a special time of the year.

For both us of this Christmas and New Year has been extra hectic – but my name is Lissy and I’m an alcoholic.

Just kidding.

But this one is all about me –  Brit A and a very festive Bucket List.

You wouldn’t know because we haven’t told you but I, Lissy, have lived in Scotland for the last 10 years whereas Fab has lived in England where we both grew up together. We’ve obviously remained close otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this right now. Maybe you’d be reading http://www.LissyofLeisure.com or http://www.NomadFab.com or maybe even nothing at all.

B u t . . . On to the main story

A few weeks ago I was offered a transfer a work and a lovely little promotion to go with it. A dream offer right? Well, correct, but the catch was to move 400 miles away from my home and live somewhere I’m unfamiliar with – with someone I’ve never met before. Now if I hadn’t of went for option A you would probably have a very boring few paragraphs ahead of you… but I ain’t about that life. H O L L A

So like any decent workaholic would, I gave the wild parties and the usual crazy drinking habits a miss this New Year’s Eve (or Hogmanay if you’re reading from Scotland) and instead had a quiet night of suitcase packing and squeezing knickers and socks into my shoes (major packing hack right there for you guys btw) to catch a flight on January 1st 2018.

The main upside of this, for the blog certainly, is that Fab and myself are now less than an hours train journey away from each other rather than a whole planes trip and we’re going to be able to spend a lot more time together. In this country. The same country.

Fab and I have got plenty to look forward to in 2018 and hopefully, you’ll be just as interested in our stories as we are making the memories behind them.

Happy New Year and I hope 2018 brings you health, happiness, and travel!
